I, Irwin Math, was the original founder of Math Associates, Inc. of
Westbury, NY in 1978. The company was independent until 1990 when it was sold to
General Microwave Corporation, becoming GMC Associates, Inc. Seven years later,
in 1997, GMC Associates (Math Associates, Inc. of westbury) was dissolved and
the assets and trademarks were sold to Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI)
where
I became Director of Fiber Optic Engineering at Communications Specialties, Inc.
developing products for the professional A/V (audio/video) market.
In September 1999, I left CSI and
formed a new company using my last name again; Math Associates, Inc. in
Hicksville, NY as a private corporation in New York State once
again. We developed fiber optic products for other market segments. Two
brands Luxlink and Litelink for different market segments. Even though these
market segments were different then A/V market there was still possible
confusion with the original 1978 company; Hence on January 1, 2002, Math Associates, Inc. of
Hicksville, NY changed the name of the corporation to
Liteway,
Inc. (of Hicksville, NY) to avoid any possible confusion with General Microwave and
CSI products, which was Math Associates of Westbury, NY.
